Shiva Nataraja Statue Lord of Dance Balinese Hindu art cast Bronze

$ 2,850.00

Shiva Nataraja - Lord of the Dance Sculpture Hindu Art statue hand cast  from bronze in Bali by skilled master craftsmen who learned the ancient art of lost wax casting from their fathers and grand fathers before them.

This depiction of the deity Shiva as Nataraja or Lord of the Dance is highly detailed.  The Nataraja is associated with the destruction-creation of the world. With Shiva dancing in an aureole of flames, lifting his left leg and balancing over the demon Apasmara who symbolizes ignorance. The two most common forms of Shiva's dance are the Lasya, associated with the creation of the world, and the Tandava, associated with the destruction of weary world views.

In essence, the Lasya and the Tandava are just two aspects of Shiva's nature; for he destroys in order to create, tearing down to build.

Solid and heavy with a slight oxidization which enhances the details in this beautiful sculpture. Perfect addition to your sacred space. You will be receiving the exact sculpture pictured here. As in all my fine Hindu and Buddhist art this is the only one I have like this in stock.
