Handcrafted in the lost wax cast method of casting. Shown with 8 arms Seated upon her Lion, each hand holding one of her attributes. Beautiful verdigris patina enhances this impressive 17 inch tall sculpture.
Durga is associated with protection, strength, motherhood, destruction, and wars. Durga riding upon the Lion or Tiger indicates that She is omnipotent and uses this power to protect virtue and destroy evil.
She is also revered in her incarnations as Parvati and Kali. She is one of the central deities of the Goddess-oriented sect called Shaktism, forming the Tridevi; Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati.
